“You have cancer”. No doubt, cancer is scary.
These may be three of the most devastating words that a person can hear in their lifetime.
And while there is a lot of talk about how to treat cancer, what are you meant to do prevent cancer? Or what are you meant to do post recovery in order to keep cancer from returning?
Are you living an anti-cancer lifestyle? Here’s what to do
The risk of developing cancer is determined by the lifestyle we choose to adopt. That being said, here are seven highly influential factors that can help in fighting and preventing cancer:
Eat The Right Food
Research has found that a more alkaline, plant based diet and lower intake of meat products can significantly lower the risk of many cancers.
Go To Sleep
Poor sleep can interfere with your melatonin production, which raise your risk of cancer. Melatonin in and of itself is a potent antioxidant with known anti-cancer properties, which ia another reason why sleeping well is so important for cancer prevention. Make sure you are gettingenought restorative sleep.
Regular exercise may reduce the risk of developing cancer or experiencing a recurrence. Exercise can also be vital in relieving fatigue and reducing the stress that is common after cancer.
Tobacco use is one of the main risk factors in the development of cancer in the lungs, head and neck, pancreas, and urinary tract. In fact, it’s the leading cause of cancer diagnoses and death.
Alcohol consumption has beed linked to various types of cancer, especially liver cancer. Limiting the use of alcohol is key. It should be consumed in moderation.
Maintain a healthy weight
Please Note: Weight loss is not recommended during many cancers, when your body needs optimal nutrition and fuel to heal. The recommendation to find a healthy weight is generally advised as prevention or after your cancer has cleared.
Highly contaminated with toxic pesticides.
I develop the nutrient dense, plant-rich eating style, which harnesses the power of superior nutrition to prevent cancer. One of the key components of the diet is what I call the immune system’s “ Anti- Cancer Special Forces” division:
(contain compounds with potent anti- cancer properties)
(Help to prevent colon cancer)
(powerful role in fighting cancer, associated with lower risk of gastric and prostate cancers because they contain compounds that detoxify carcinogens, halt cancer cell growth, and block angiogenesis)
(prevent DNA damage, slow cancer cell growth, cause programmed cancer cell death and inhibit angiogenesis)
(full of antioxidants, flavonoids , provide cards – protective and anti- cancer effects and stimulate the body’s own antioxidant enzymes)
Seeds and Nuts
(Rich in lignin’s, which have strong anti- cancer effect)
( Many pesticides, herbicides and fungicides, preservatives, colours and flavours have carcinogenic qualities, it makes good sense to minimise your exposure to chemicals that are cancer- promoting)
